Organizational History of ANNFSU

The historic Jayatu Sanskritam Movement of 1947, the establishment of the All Nepal Student Federation in 1950, and the activities it led, along with the creation of Nepal Student Association, Nepal Chhatra Sangh, Sanskrit Chhatra Sangh Nepal, and other student organizations, formed the foundation for the movement to establish an independent student union. On September 5, 1963, the first election of the Free Student Union was conducted at Tribhuvan University's central campus. In April 1964, an intercollege student conference was held, leading to the first All Nepal Student Conference and the establishment of ANNFSU. With its establishment, even the government-founded Nepal Student Organization had to be dissolved. ANNFSU has progressed ideologically, politically, and programmatically in an organized manner, and its organizational history is presented here.
